Who Should Attend: Case managers, Direct Care Staff, In-Home Support Providers, Therapists, Counselors, Licensed Mental Health Practitioners, and Supervisors

Training Objectives:
• Identify warning signs and protective factors of suicide
• Provide information about lethality risk assessment
• Learn how to estimate levels of suicide risk
• Discuss intervention do’s and don’ts
• Provide information to create a safety plan with an individual who is suicidal

About the Speaker: As a Licensed Mental Health Practitioner in Nebraska for the past 15 years, Sonya Fittje has had experience working in various levels of care. This has included inpatient, outpatient, and residential settings providing individual, group and family therapy to numerous youth and families. Sonya began her current role as the Clinical Hotline Supervisor for the Hope4 Iowa Crisis Line when the call line launched in June 2015. Sonya loves the opportunity to provide clinical supervision and training, while also bringing awareness to mental health topics out in the community. Her experiences as a supervisor and counselor have helped her to gain vast knowledge on how to identify, assess and prevent safety concerns.
