Who Should Attend: EVERYONE including Direct Care Staff, Caseworkers, Therapists, Counselors, Licensed Mental Health Practitioners, and Supervisors

Training Objectives
• Identify types of sexual abuse and human trafficking
• Discuss trauma associated with sexual abuse and human trafficking
• Examine prevalence and statistics as they relate locally
• Discuss the benefits of utilizing multi-disciplinary and trauma informed approach when working with survivors of sexual abuse and/or human trafficking
• Discuss services available to survivors and how to access them if you encounter a survivor who is in need advocacy or assistance

About the Speaker:

Sarah is currently as Sexual Assault Advocate for Catholic Charities Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Program. Sarah has a Bachelor’s Degree in both Biological Sciences and Criminal Justice. Sarah has specialized in both domestic violence and sexual violence and has been an advocate for 8 years. Sarah also graduated from MWSU Regional Law Enforcement Academy and has been a commissioned law enforcement officer for almost 10 years. She was previously a full-time Deputy Sheriff and is currently a part-time Police Officer.

Cancellation Policy

It is our goal to provide trainings as scheduled. If a training is cancelled for any reason the region will attempt to email registered participants as well as post the change on the trainings page of the region website.

The region is committed to providing quality training experiences. When a registered participant does not attend it often prevents another participant from having the opportunity. Please call us at 712-328-5645 by 12:00 pm the day prior to the training if needed to cancel a registration. If the training is on a Monday please contact us by 12 pm on Friday. If the aforementioned notice is not given you will be charged a minimum of $25.00 (this includes trainings with no registration fee).
