Crisis Stabilization Residential Services
“It is our mission to provide a safe, caring and home-like environment to those with a mental illness in crisis while modeling skills needed to successfully navigate in the community.”
In the fall of 2015, Waubonsie Mental Health Center was awarded a grant by the SWIA MHDS Region to provide a new service called Crisis Stabilization Residential Services. The program’s purpose is to support individuals in a mental health crisis and allow them to remain within the community instead of being admitted into in-patient hospitals. In the development of the program, it is now recognized as Turning Pointe. Turning Pointe opened its doors to southwest Iowa in January 2016.
Turning Pointe currently accepts referrals from Cass, Fremont, Harrison, Mills, Monona, Montgomery, Page, Pottawattamie, and Shelby counties. Friends, family, emergency departments, and/or out-patient providers have the ability to make a referral 24 hours a day.
To make a referral or ask additional questions, please contact
Turning Pointe at (712) 303-7066.
Attention: If you or someone you know is in immediate danger, please go to your local emergency department or contact 911. Individuals that seek intervention could still be approved for services at Turning Pointe. Please visit with the physician or law enforcement about making a referral to Turning Pointe.
